COVID-19 Support

How Can You Help?

COVID19Response

Serving our Bethlehem family:

  • Please call the families on your page of the BLC directory and see how they are doing.  If help is needed, please contact Pastor Dan.
  • Send an email or mail a note to families to see how they are doing
  • Donations to may be made online on the BLC website and you may designate COVID19 to help BLC families who are struggling during this time

Please remember Lutheran Ministries that continue to need your support:

ELCA COVID-19 Relief

Lutheran World Relief

Lutheran Disaster Response

Metropolitan DC Synod of the ELCA

Mar-Lu-Ridge Camp

Lutheran Campus Ministries

During this difficult time when families are under stay-at-home orders and many families are facing furloughs and layoffs, the need for community support is particularly urgent.

Below are several opportunities for you to support those in need:

Lutheran Social Services

Immediate Needs:

  • Muscle Movers - seeking individuals willing to drive a U-Haul or use their own truck to pick-up donated furnishings and drop-off at families' new apartments
  • Virtual Mentors and Tutors - help our families and youth engage in English conversation
  • Supplies for Expecting Mothers - we have several families who are welcoming bundles of joy into their lives this spring
  • Laptops and tablets - keep our families connected to family, job resources, and educational materials
  • Gift cards - to assist our refugee families who are financially struggling to cover the costs of groceries at this time
  • Vacuum cleaners and cleaning supplies - our families are in need of many of the hard-to-find items for keeping their homes clean
